A leading educational group in London is seeking Student Community Officers to support student engagement and behaviour management. The role involves developing positive relationships with students and fostering community responsibilities. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and experience in educational settings to drive a positive ethos within the college community.
South Thames Colleges Group is seeking Student Community Officers to support and develop our students by promoting good behaviour, community responsibilities, and positive engagement. You will play a key role in fostering a positive ethos within the College community, including enrichment and holistic Student Services. Your responsibilities include providing an engaging onsite presence, signposting enrichment opportunities, promoting positive attitudes, inclusivity, behaviour, and offering early intervention support for students at risk.
Applicants should have experience working with young people in a school or college setting, with an understanding of issues affecting attendance and behaviour as per Group Policy. The role requires establishing positive relationships with students while maintaining personal boundaries, knowledge of behaviour management techniques, safeguarding policies, and experience with IT and data management systems related to student records. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, with the ability to build relationships and advise effectively in English.
Note: The successful candidate will be eligible for a salary increase following the upcoming cost of living review from 1 August.
