Job summary

The King Edmund School is seeking an Education, Welfare & Attendance Officer to join our supportive team. You will work with students and families to improve attendance and wellbeing, including home visits and coordinating with external agencies.

We welcome candidates with experience in education or social care, who are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The role emphasizes a therapeutic approach and strong administrative skills within a term-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in education, social care, or similar fields.

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with students and families to improve attendance and wellbeing.
• Conduct home visits (not outsourced) and manage a caseload of complex attendance cases.
• Liaise with external agencies and prepare cases for legal proceedings.
• Play a key role in safeguarding, including identifying and reporting child protection concerns.
• Use a therapeutic and empathetic approach to support our most vulnerable families.
