Job summary

Granville Academy is seeking an Education Welfare Officer to work with the pastoral team to improve student attendance and outcomes. The role requires accurate record-keeping, data analysis and effective communication with staff, parents and external agencies.

You will support students in overcoming barriers to attendance, with a focus on timely, proactive intervention and building positive relationships with families. Driving duties may be required as part of home visits.

Qualifications

• Hold or be willing to work towards NVQ 3 in Learning and Support services for children or equivalent.
• Demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience with SIMS is desirable.
• Able to relate well to young people and interact kindly and positively.
• A valid driving licence is essential for home visits.

Responsibilities

• Support, improve and maintain high levels of attendance in partnership with pastoral team.
• Record, monitor and track attendance data to identify trends and concerns.
• Communicate effectively with senior staff, parents, carers and external agencies.
• Provide a high-quality pastoral service to students to support positive outcomes.
• Be prepared to conduct home visits as required.
