Job summary

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is seeking an Attendance Officer to implement whole-school strategies to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence. You will conduct the Late Gate patrol, maintain the attendance MIS, and engage with students and parents to address absences, offering support and escalation where needed.

The role combines operational duties with administrative tasks, including data reporting and liaison with staff, students, and families, in a full-time permanent post located

Qualifications

• Strong communication with diverse audiences both verbal and written.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in standard ICT packages including Microsoft Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Drive whole-school attendance strategies by providing operational and clerical support to reduce persistent absence.
• Conduct the daily Late Gate patrol and manage the attendance MIS.
• Operate the automated system for contacting parents regarding absence.
• Direct engagement with students and parents to discuss absence reasons and provide support.
• Prepare and present detailed attendance data for monitoring and reports, and process referrals for Fixed Penalty Notices.
