Job summary

Outwood Academy Hindley is seeking an Attendance Officer to help maximise student potential by improving attendance and reducing persistent absence through whole-school strategies. You will perform operational duties including home visits, late gate patrols and maintaining attendance records.

You will engage with students and parents to identify barriers to attendance, provide support, and present attendance data for monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with diverse audiences, both verbal and written.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in ICT, especially Microsoft Office and Excel; familiarity with CMIS/SIMS advisable; DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Drive whole-school attendance strategies by providing operational and clerical support to reduce persistent absence.
• Conduct daily 'Late Gate' patrol and maintain attendance management system.
• Prepare and present attendance data for monitoring and reporting; process referrals for Fixed Penalty Notices.
