Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience as maintenance manager or supervisor in related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of building services (heating, electrical, plumbing).
• Experience leading a maintenance team.
• Understanding of safety legislation; IOSH/NEBOSH desirable.
• Experience managing budgets, contractors and suppliers.
• Proficient with CMMS and standard IT tools.
• Strong problem solving and customer service orientation.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance team and supervise operatives.
• Oversee reactive and planned maintenance across accommodation.
• Plan preventative maintenance schedules.
• Ensure statutory compliance: fire, gas, electrical, legionella, lifts.
• Manage external contractors for repairs and refurbishment.
• Control maintenance budget and costs.
• Plan room turnarounds for academic year and arrivals.
• Maintain stock and equipment.
• Keep accurate records and safety certificates.
• Support student experience with positive service.
