Job summary

Flow Student Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Bradford to lead the on-site maintenance function for our student accommodation. You will manage a team including a plumber, an electrician and a general maintenance operative, coordinate with external contractors, and ensure safe, compliant and well-maintained facilities for students.

Reporting to the City Operations Manager, you will plan preventative maintenance, handle reactive repairs, manage the budget, and drive improvements to deliver

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a maintenance manager or supervisor in student accommodation, residential, hotel or commercial property.
• Strong technical knowledge of building services (heating, electrical, plumbing).
• Experience leading and developing a maintenance team.
• Safety credentials such as IOSH or NEBOSH desirable.
• Experience managing budgets, contractors and suppliers.
• Familiarity with CMMS and standard IT packages.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills with a customer service focus.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and stay calm under pressure.
• Trade qualification, technical certification or equivalent experience.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance team, supervise and develop operatives.
• Oversee repairs and upkeep across student rooms and communal areas.
• Plan preventative maintenance for plant, equipment and accommodation.
• Ensure statutory compliance (fire safety, electrical, gas, legionella, lift, etc).
• Manage contractors for repairs, servicing and refurbishment.
• Control maintenance budget and identify cost saving opportunities.
• Prepare for peak periods and room turnarounds.
• Maintain stock and equipment; keep records up to date.
• Support student experience with responsive service.
