Job summary

Matchtech’s client seeks a Structures Engineer to support asset management by identifying needs and producing risk management plans. The role involves project management, budgeting, and supply chain elements to maintain assets per DMRB standards.

The engineer may develop treatment options, conduct preliminary design work, and perform structural reviews, ensuring adherence to asset policies and standards within a hybrid Bristol or Exeter setup.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in relevant discipline and working towards professional membership or body.
• Experience in structures studies, renewals design or structural assessment.
• Experience managing budgets including creating budgets for schemes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication with a customer focus.
• Knowledge of National Highways standards (DMRB, MCHW, Eurocodes) and their application.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prepare survey briefs, and support delivery of structures survey works for improvements, assessments or renewals.
• Monitor delivery of assessment work; liaise with technical partners to aid scheme delivery.
• Develop improvement/renewal options with documentation, evidence, and option reports for value management.
• Undertake structural reviews per CS 451 and assessments per DMRB standards.
• Assist with developing regional asset-led forward programme and scheme development.
