Job summary

Simtec Construction Materials Testing is seeking a Structures Testing Technician to carry out hands-on structural testing on live sites across the UK. You will work as part of a small team, perform a range of tests, record findings methodically and ensure compliance with safety standards and project requirements.

You will travel nationwide, stay away from home for multiple nights, and have a clear progression path within a growing, supportive company culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in structural investigation.
• CSCS card required.
• IPAF or PASMA qualification preferred.
• Highways passport beneficial.
• Full UK driving licence with clean record.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home for multiple nights.

Responsibilities

• Carry out on-site non-destructive testing of bridges, buildings and other structures.
• Perform coring and sampling for compressive testing and petrographic analysis.
• Record data accurately and produce clear reports for project teams.
• Liaise with engineers, site managers and clients on findings.
• Check and maintain testing equipment calibration.
• Undertake reinforcement loss surveys and concrete breakouts as required.
