Job summary

Sunblink is recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor (SQS) to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of structural steel projects in the Midlands. You will oversee payments, variations, final accounts and maintain profitability while protecting the company’s commercial interests.

The role requires strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of subcontracting dynamics, with close collaboration with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a subcontracting environment.
• Understanding of subcontract agreements and main contract terms.
• Ability to manage applications for payment, valuations and variations.
• Strong negotiation and commercially astute mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of projects from award to final account.
• Review and negotiate subcontract agreements and main contracts.
• Handle payment applications, valuations, variations and change control.
• Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
• Identify, price and negotiate variations and additional works.
• Manage contractual notices, risks and entitlements.
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators and operations.
• Control costs, budgets, forecasts and project profitability.
