Job summary

ARM International is supporting a well-established structural steel company in Ayrshire by recruiting an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to secure major tenders across commercial, industrial, infrastructure and construction sectors.

You will review tender enquiries, produce accurate take-offs from drawings, prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labour, fabrication, erection, coatings, transport and subcontract costs, and liaise with clients, engineers and suppliers to win

Qualifications

• Experience estimating structural steelwork and cladding packages.
• Ability to interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Proficient with estimating software and cost databases.

Responsibilities

• Review tender enquiries, specifications, drawings, and contract documentation.
• Produce accurate steel take-offs from structural and fabrication drawings.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, fabrication, erection, coatings, transport, and subcontract costs.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Assess project risks and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Prepare and submit competitive tender proposals within deadlines.
• Liaise with clients throughout the tender process and attend pre-contract meetings where required.
• Maintain estimating records and cost databases.
• Work closely with Contracts Managers, Design Teams, and Production departments to ensure smooth project handovers.
