Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking an Estimator for a busy commercial team in the structural steel sector. You will prepare cost estimates and manage tenders, coordinating with clients, suppliers and internal departments to secure new work while ensuring projects meet client specifications and budgets.

The role requires experience in structural steel estimation, strong commercial awareness, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in structural steel estimating or QS.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Understanding of UK building regulations and fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates from client specifications and drawings.
• Manage enquiries and tender submissions from receipt through to quotation.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Liaise with clients and internal teams throughout the estimating process.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Support business development activities and identify new opportunities.
• Ensure quotations are commercially competitive and technically compliant.
