Job summary

Airey Miller is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our engineering team in the Greater London area. You will work under the Team Lead and collaborate with experienced colleagues on a varied portfolio, including inspections, defect investigations and design for new-build and existing buildings.

You will develop technical skills across disciplines, progress toward chartered status, and engage with clients, architects and contractors to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (BEng, MEng or MSc).
• Experience in a structural engineering consultancy with knowledge of structural principles and design codes.
• Experience carrying out inspections, condition surveys, defect investigations and preparing technical reports.
• Competence in structural analysis, design software and CAD packages such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Working towards chartership with IStructE or ICE, or already hold chartered status.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, able to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to travel to site and hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural inspections, condition surveys and defect investigations on existing buildings and structures.
• Perform structural design and analysis for new-build, refurbishment, extension and change-of-use projects.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
• Support senior engineers in project management, meeting deadlines and maintaining technical standards.
