For an idea of their scale, they currently support approximately 10,000 miles of highways, 8,400 miles of footways, and 7,000 miles of public rights of way across the country. They have an ethos that is based on building collaborative, long-term partnerships with their clients, often co-locating teams to work towards shared goals.
Your new role
We're seeking a proactive and experienced Highways Structural Supervisor to oversee and ensure the quality and safety of structural maintenance and improvement projects on our road network across the capital. You'll be responsible for supervising site visits, reporting defects, coordinating work, ensuring adherence to specifications and regulations, and maintaining accurate records. Your expertise in highway structures, including bridges, retaining walls, and culverts, will be crucial in delivering high-quality and efficient project outcomes. You'll also play a key role in promoting a safe working environment and fostering effective communication within the team and with stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed
A proactive mindset towards rectifying structural defects across your area. We seek someone who can recognize build defects, highlight them, and demonstrate a drive to find the root causes and improve build standards across the company. While SSSTS/SMSTS cards are beneficial, they are not mandatory. An undergraduate degree in civil engineering is preferred but not essential.
