Job summary

Hiya Energy is recruiting a Structural Engineer to join our established engineering team in Manchester. You will carry out structural inspections, appraisals, defect diagnosis, and repair design across a wide range of buildings.

The role focuses on domestic, commercial, industrial, and historic buildings, identifying structural issues, investigating root causes, and developing practical repair solutions with mentoring to chartership.

Qualifications

• BSc / BEng or equivalent from an IStructE / ICE approved course.
• Strong understanding of building structures, fabric, defects and alterations.
• Experience preparing structural calculations and drawings.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Tekla and Autodesk Revit is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting and assessing varied buildings and structures.
• Diagnosing defects using intrusive and non-destructive investigation methods.
• Preparing structural calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
• Designing repair solutions and supporting repair delivery.
• Liaising with contractors, specialists, and project teams.
