Job summary

Construction Professionals Recruitment represents our client in the appointment of a Structural Engineer to join their engineering team in London. You will contribute to a varied portfolio, from inspections and defect investigations to design and appraisal work on new builds and existing buildings, with progression toward chartered status.

You will work under the Team Lead and collaborate with clients, architects and other consultants, delivering high-quality solutions while developing

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Structural or Civil Engineering (BEng, MEng or MSc).
• Experience in structural engineering consultancy with knowledge of structural principles and design codes.
• Experience carrying out building inspections, condition surveys, defect investigations and preparing technical reports.
• Competence in structural analysis, design software and CAD packages such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Working towards chartership with IStructE or ICE, or already chartered.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to travel to site and hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural inspections, condition surveys and defect investigations across existing buildings and structures.
• Design and analysis for new-build, refurbishment, extension and change-of-use projects.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Work closely with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Working under the guidance of the Team Lead and alongside experienced colleagues, the ideal candidate will contribute to a varied portfolio of projects, from structural inspections and defect investigations to design and appraisal work on new build and existing buildings. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to develop their technical skills, gain broad project exposure within a multidisciplinary practice and progress towards chartered status (or continue to build on it).
