Job summary

Arup in Newcastle is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering team. You will be part of a multidisciplinary group of around 20 engineers and technicians working on commercial, residential, transport and infrastructure projects.

You will develop design, technical and software skills in a collaborative environment and contribute to packages from inception to completion, while progressing toward chartership with IStructE or ICE.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified and working towards chartership via IStructE, ICE or equivalent.
• Developing understanding of engineering principles and design software.
• Aptitude for working on own initiative and taking responsibility for parts of projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the structural design of projects and take responsibility for discrete work packages.
• Communicate through sketching, drawing, presentations and written reports.
• Check own and others' work and mentor junior team members.
