Job summary

HWA Recruitment is seeking a Graduate / Intermediate Structural Engineer in Birmingham. The role offers up to 3 days of remote work as part of a full-time position.

You will assist in the analysis and design of structural elements for buildings and infrastructure, and contribute to technical drawings and calculations. You should be progressing toward a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with knowledge of relevant codes, and good teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or in progress).
• Experience with Structural Analysis and calculations for safe designs.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD for drawings and models.
• Progress toward professional registration (chartership) is an asset.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a project environment.

Responsibilities

Role Description

This is a full-time, Graduate / Intermediate Structural Engineer role based in Birmingham, with up to 3 days working remotely (if required). The role involves assisting in the analysis and design of structural elements for buildings and infrastructure, preparing engineering calculations, and contributing to technical reports. The engineer will produce and update drawings and models using CAD tools, coordinate with senior engineers and other disciplines, and support the review of designs for safety, serviceability, and constructability. Day-to-day tasks also include attending project meetings, responding to design queries, and supporting site inspections or surveys as needed to ensure designs are implemented correctly.

Qualifications
