Job summary

Unknown is seeking a Structural Design Engineer in Birmingham to take ownership of projects from concept through detailed design. You’ll work on commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure developments, coordinating with architects and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

The role requires degree-level civil/structural engineering, strong draughting skills, experience with Revit and AutoCAD, and knowledge of UK building regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in structural design within the building and construction sector.
• Proven technical drawing and draughting capability with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience using structural analysis and design software.
• Good understanding of UK building regulations, design codes and industry standards.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload effectively.

Responsibilities

• Produce structural designs and calculations for a variety of construction projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and models using industry-standard CAD software.
• Develop technical specifications, reports and design documentation.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, clients and other design disciplines throughout project delivery.
• Review and check structural drawings to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Assist in the coordination and management of project deliverables, budgets and timescales.
• Undertake site visits and provide technical support during construction phases.
• Contribute to design reviews and identify practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
