Job summary

The Band 6 Specialist Stroke Occupational Therapist role at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust offers exciting clinical experience within an acute stroke multidisciplinary team. You will provide specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to optimise functional independence after stroke and support timely discharge planning.

The post is maternity cover until 1 November 2027, with opportunities for clinical leadership, supervision of junior staff and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Member of RCOT.
• Ongoing CPD and professional development evidence.
• Clinical educators course.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for stroke patients.
• Lead on elements of the work and training within stroke OT.
• Provide clinical leadership and supervise junior staff and students.
• Coordinate care and support discharge planning across the stroke pathway.
• Deliver patient and family education and information.
