Job summary

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust in Lincolnshire is seeking a Trainee or Qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join the stroke ACP team. You will autonomously assess patients with suspected stroke, order investigations, and plan treatments in line with current guidelines.

The role supports expansion of acute stroke services and opportunities to participate in stroke research and quality improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Essential: Substantial post registration relevant experience.
• Essential: NIHSS qualification.
• Essential: Post registration qualification or training relevant to speciality [Degree].
• Essential: MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
• Essential: Registered Independent Non‑Medical Prescriber.
• Essential: Dysphagia Assessment Skills.
• Essential: Evidence of teaching, supervision and assessment skills.
• Essential: ALS Provider.
• Essential: First degree (BSc) in an appropriate healthcare field.

Responsibilities

• Triage all stroke and TIA referrals.
• Autonomously perform initial assessments of patients with suspected stroke.
• Select and request investigations; interpret results to plan treatment per guidelines.
• Identify patients eligible for reperfusion therapies and facilitate access.
• Perform specialist stroke assessments (e.g., NIHSS, dysphagia).
• Work to SSNAP standards to ensure high quality care.
• Contribute to MDT working environment.
• Provide specialist stroke education and training to the stroke MDT and other clinical staff.
