Job summary

The North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Trust (NCIC) is seeking Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners to join the Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit at Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. The role is up to 30 hours per week, with weekend and late shifts, supporting HASU and Stroke Rehabilitation ward and contributing to the patient pathway.

The post includes opportunities to undertake ACP Master’s training in 2027, with daytime learning access and clinical leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree level or equivalent in a clinical field.
• ILS provider certification.
• Non-Medical prescriber qualification.
• ALS provider qualification.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete clinical care for patients within the Stroke Unit, improving patient care and flow.
• Undertake comprehensive physical and mental health assessments and decide on appropriate treatment.
• Prescribe medication, order investigations, refer tests, and admit/discharge within guidelines.
• Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing teams and other staff.
• Support Trust management with clinical care provision and patient flow; may travel to West Cumberland Hospital.
