About British Cycling

British Cycling exists to bring the joy of cycling to everyone.

We have embarked on an exciting new journey, with a modernised commercial and events offering grounded in social impact and storytelling, harnessing the spotlight and inspiration of our athlete’s performance on the world stage, and our growing portfolio of major events.

We are working towards our three key priorities outlined in our strategy; to support and grow the sport to make cycling more inclusive and accessible, to lead on the world stage by winning and winning well, and to drive social impact by tackling inequalities through providing opportunities.

What will you be doing?

This role sits within the Great Britain Cycling Team (GBCT), the country’s most successful Olympic and Paralympic team in history. Now is an incredibly exciting year to join GBCT. Fresh off the back of winning 11 Olympic and 22 Paralympic medals at the most recent Games in Paris, as well as having recently celebrated 20 years of the GBCT pathway, we are a team with high ambitions to continue this legacy at LA 2028 and beyond.

Supporting the development delivery of high quality, scientifically informed training programmes that advance the human contribution to cycling performance across multiple disciplines in the Great Britain Cycling Team’s Olympic and Paralympic World Class Programmes.

What we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • Curious – You have a constant curiosity about how the rest of the world are developing their athletes and how to keep ahead of them. You constantly look for other ways and better ways of improving performance through the application of S&C. You have an appetite to learn from other sports, coaches and environments. You have a desire to invite fresh eyes and new perspectives and you welcome challenge and debate.
  • Passionate – You have a passion for training and the underpinning factors which influence adaptation. You will be ‘well-read’ in key literature and research and will have ideas about application of research in real world settings. Training is your passion, it’s what you think about every day.
  • A rapport builder – You foster positive engagement and strong, trusting relationships. You will be proactive and optimistically persistent in developing the strength of these relationships even with the most challenging of personalities. You don’t give up.
  • Reliable – You can be consistently depended upon. When you say it will get done, it gets done. You effectively manage expectations and are sure not to over promise and under deliver. What you do is always done to the best of your ability.
  • Conscientious - You possess a high attention to detail and have a desire to ensure to ensure the standards of service delivery and the environment you operate in are world class. To this end you seek feedback on yourself and are forthcoming in providing constructive feedback to others.
  • A team player – You will naturally want to stand shoulder to shoulder with your colleagues and muck in when it is required.

What are the perks?

  • Competitive Salary
  • Cycle toWork Scheme
  • Generous Holidays (25 days + bank holidays)
  • Holiday purchase scheme
  • Life Assurance
  • Pension
