Job summary

NFU Mutual in the United Kingdom is seeking a Street Pricing Consultant to lead the Motor Pricing team and develop street prices for Car, Van and Tractor. You will coach a small analyst team and coordinate with data, modelling, risk pricing, underwriting, distribution and finance.

You will apply pricing models, run scenario analyses and manage a dynamic control cycle while ensuring independence from risk pricing. The role offers hybrid work with Stratford-upon-Avon as your office base.

Qualifications

• Pricing experience in General Insurance, preferably Motor.
• Strong data-driven pricing recommendations with stakeholder collaboration.
• Experience coaching or mentoring analysts is advantageous.

## Street Pricing Consultant* Join a dynamic General Insurance (GI) Pricing department with over 100 talented professionals, with a common goal of setting fair and accurate prices for our customers.* Play an active role in setting the pricing strategy for our Personal Lines products – namely Van, Car and Tractor, alongside managing a small team* Hybrid working on offer – spend 20% of your time from our Stratford-upon-Avon office and up to 80% of your time working from home## About the roleOur Pricing Department is a well-established and thriving function which focuses on delivering long-term value for our customers, rather than working to short-term profit targets. This role sits within the Motor Pricing team and focuses on **developing and delivering street (customer) prices** for our Motor products – Car, Van and Tractor. You’ll manage a small team of Analysts, providing coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance. You will be also responsible for recommending and managing street pricing strategies across your portfolio, ensuring independence from risk pricing is maintained throughout. This includes analysing internal and external data, utilising pricing models, and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders including those in Data, Modelling, Risk Pricing, Underwriting, Distribution, Claims, and Finance divisions. You will also be accountable for: * Designing, implementing and continuously improving Pricing models to **ensure model integrity, accuracy and confidence*** Conducting **scenario planning and impact assessments** to understand the effect of pricing actions on conversion, retention and profitability* Monitoring and analysing **street price performance** and driving value to the business* Executing a **dynamic control cycle**, tracking and managing premium delivery, identifying issues, and driving continuous improvement* Working effectively with Underwriting Performance, Modelling, Risk Pricing, Marketing and Sales to ensure delivery of agreed price strategies* Delivering short‐term or one‐off projects as required* Leading, managing, motivating and developing your direct reports, supporting their growth and ensuring clear expectations are set *This role will be aligned to our Stratford-upon-Avon offices – expectation is to spend 20% of your week here, with up 80% of your time working from home.*## About youYou are a commercially minded and customer‐oriented **Pricing professional with strong experience in the GI sector** and a proven track record of delivering robust, data‐driven pricing recommendations. **Technical skills required:** * General Insurance experience* Pricing experience (any product, but Motor knowledge is highly preferred)* **Radar** experience* **SQL** capability* Degree educated It will also be highly advantageous if you can demonstrate experience within Price Optimisation, Underwriting and/or running & owning an account. You’ll also have a strong problem‐solving mindset, and an inquisitive and analytical approach matched with the ability to present technical information to non‐technical audiences. Becoming an effective communicator, with excellent stakeholder management will also be key, showcasing resilience under pressure, and maintaining accuracy and sound judgement.
