Our Pricing Department is a well-established, thriving function focused on delivering long-term value for our customers, rather than short-term profit targets. This role is within the Motor Pricing team, primarily focusing on formulating and executing the pricing strategy for our Motor products, with an initial emphasis on Tractor, while also influencing Car and Commercial vehicle pricing. Key responsibilities include assessing and enhancing pricing models and setting final customer prices.
As a Street Pricing Consultant, you will lead a small team responsible for recommending and managing motor portfolio pricing strategies. This involves analyzing internal and external data, utilizing various pricing models, and collaborating closely with the Data, Modelling, and Risk Pricing teams, as well as external stakeholders such as Underwriting, Distribution, Claims, and Finance.
You will monitor and improve the accuracy of pricing models, conduct scenario planning, and assess the impact of pricing decisions on metrics like conversion rates, retention, and profitability. You will also be a line manager, coaching and mentoring analysts, supporting their development, and addressing technical queries.
You are a commercially minded, customer-focused professional with extensive experience in the General Insurance sector, particularly in Insurance Pricing and motor insurance. You have a proven ability to analyze complex data, draw actionable conclusions, and make commercially sound recommendations to ensure fair and accurate customer pricing. Experience in product ownership is desirable.
You can consider all relevant internal and external factors to develop a comprehensive market view and set prices in line with NFU Mutual’s policies. Competence in Radar and experience with price optimization are advantageous.
You are an excellent communicator, capable of building stakeholder relationships and influencing decisions, even in challenging conversations.
