STREET OUTREACH WORKER– SHEFFIELD, PERMANENT, 23.5 HRS, GRADE 3, £25,235, FTE

Street Outreach Worker - Sheffield

Are you compassionate and proactive with a willingness to work in partnership with a variety of agencies to deliver the government's goal to end rough sleeping?

We're looking for passionate and dedicated people with a talent to work with vulnerable adults with a wide range of issues.

We give support to street homeless people, actively going out onto the street to engage with individuals throughout Sheffield who have fallen on hard times and found themselves sleeping rough. We provide free signposting advice to people with all kinds of housing problems who contact our service so we can help them to help themselves.

Experience in this field is not necessary, just a willingness to learn and the capability to engage with people from all walks of life.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To assess individual service user's skills and needs and to work positively with risk
  • To support rough sleepers to engage with a process of resettlement into appropriate long term accommodation
  • To ensure safety and security of the client
  • To build the skills and confidence of service users to empower them in maximising their independence
  • To work in partnership with other agencies to maximise service delivery.
