Job summary

J McCann & Co Limited is recruiting a Street Lighting Supervisor to oversee on-site activities for Liverpool City Council projects. You will manage capital works, supervise teams, and ensure delivery on time and within budget while maintaining the highest safety standards under CDM 2015.

The role requires NEC contract experience, SSSTS/CSCS/CITB SMSTS, a full UK driving license, and strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in Street Lighting projects and working under NEC Contracts.
• Hold SSSTS Card, CSCS card & CITB SMSTS.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, especially CDM 2015 responsibilities.
• Driving license required for this role.
• Leadership and supervision experience in fast-paced environments.
• Commercial acumen: budgeting, scheduling, and programme development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing physical construction activities as directed by the contract Manager.
• Coordinate and supervise capital projects and maintenance schemes with timelines and budgets.
• Input weekly programme works, managing plant, labour, and materials.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and report on safety issues to the SHEQ Manager.
• Lead, manage and motivate the team; produce Work Package Plans and task briefs.
• Organise work gangs; ensure staff and subcontractors are competent.
• Monitor work quality to prevent defects; report incidents and accidents.
