Job summary

Colas Ltd. in the Peacehaven area is offering a 24-month Street Lighting Electrician Apprentice role within the ITS team. You will learn hands-on alongside qualified electricians, attending college in Eastbourne and progressing toward Level 2 Installation and Maintenance Electrician qualification.

The apprenticeship runs 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on-site, with potential progression to Level 3 if eligible. Excellent career development and a structured training plan are provided.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above.
• Interested in becoming a qualified electrician.
• School/college leaver starting career.
• Willing to learn new skills.
• Enjoy practical, hands-on work.
• Reliable, punctual and team-focused.

Responsibilities

• As a Street Lighting Apprentice, assist electricians with maintenance and repairs.
• Identify and resolve electrical faults under supervision.
• Support installation and maintenance of street lighting equipment.
• Learn to use tools safely and correctly.
• Keep accurate records of work and report progress to supervisor.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers and customers.
