Job summary

VolkerHighways is recruiting a Street Lighting Electrician to support our Abingdon contract. You will assist with electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance, as well as emergency responses and new build works on the street lighting network.

The role requires experience in street lighting installations and a strong commitment to safety and site rules. We offer a range of benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Ideally 5 years Street Lighting installations experience.
• Must demonstrate good awareness of site and company rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical installations, repairs, planned maintenance and new installations.
• Assist with the installation of signs / columns, bollards and associated equipment.
• Provide 24-hour Emergency Response / Out of Hours Standby.
• Carry out works as instructed by the Site Supervisor in a safe manner.
• Electrical inspection and testing including periodic testing.
• Fault diagnosis and repair.
• Ensure vehicles maintained to a high standard with defect sheets.

Job description

We have the capability to deliver major surfacing and public realm infrastructure projects. Our specialist in-house traffic management division provides expert advice and support across the industry, whilst assisting with our own, in-house contracts., We have a fantastic opportunity for a Street Lighting Electrician to work on our Street Lighting contract in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. You will be responsible for providing support for electrical installations, repairs, planned maintenance and new installations.

• Assisting with the installation of signs / columns, bollards and associated equipment
• 24-hour Emergency Response / Out of Hours Standby
• Assisting with the installation of any new build works
• Carry out works as instructed by the Site Supervisor in a safe manner, within the scope if relevant duties
• Electrical inspection and testing including periodic testing
• Fault diagnosis and repair
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard, with vehicle defect sheet completed correctly
  Ideally 5 years Street Lighting installations experience
