Job summary

VolkerHighways in Wokingham, West Berkshire, is seeking a Highways Street Lighting Electrical Operative to support electrical installations, repairs, planned maintenance and new installations on our street lighting contract.

You will assist with installing signs, columns and associated equipment, provide 24-hour standby support, perform electrical inspections and fault diagnosis, and work under the Site Supervisor in a safe manner. Relevant qualifications such as SWQR, G39, NVQ3 preferred.

Qualifications

• Ideally 3 years Street Lighting Installations experience.
• Must demonstrate good awareness of site and company rules.
• Safe Isolation / G39 required.
• SWQR qualification is preferred.
• MEWP Operator and ECS H&S Test are desirable.
• First Aid certification is advantageous.
• Preferable registration to Highways Electrical Level 3 NVQ.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the installation of signs / columns, bollards and associated equipment
• 24-hour Emergency Response / Out of Hours Standby
• Assisting with the installation of any new build works
• Carry out works as instructed by the Site Supervisor in a safe manner, within the scope if relevant duties
• Electrical inspection and testing including periodic testing
• Fault diagnosis and repair
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard, with vehicle defect sheet completed correctly

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for Highways Street Lighting Electrical Operative to work on our Street Lighting contract in Wokingham, West Berkshire. You will be responsible for providing support for electrical installations, repairs, planned maintenance and new installations.
