Job summary

City of Doncaster Council is recruiting for Street Cleansing Technician positions at North Bridge Depot in Doncaster. Two permanent, full-time posts (37 hours per week) with a Grade 5 salary of £25,584.

Shortlisting will occur in late August 2026 with interviews in early September. The role involves outdoor street cleansing across Doncaster, training provided on machinery, and joining the Street Scene team to keep communities clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Experience in Street Cleansing or Waste management is beneficial but not essential.
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Litter removal and bin emptying across Doncaster communities.
• Fly-tip clearance, road sweeping and weed removal works.
• Operate maintenance machinery as trained to deliver street cleansing activities.
• Work directly in the community on sites across Doncaster to maintain public spaces.

We may have the opportunity for you; we are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our Street Scene team.

Although experience in Street Cleansing or Waste management is a benefit it is not essential for the role of Street Cleansing Technician. We need someone with a positive attitude who works well in a team and is committed to delivering an excellent service every day.

We will provide training to allow you to use a variety of maintenance machinery to deliver works including, litter removal, bin emptying, fly tip clearance, road sweeping and weed removal works. The role works directly in the community on sites across Doncaster, giving you the chance to see the difference Street Scene makes to people living in Doncaster.
