Smart DCC is seeking a Strategy Manager to shape strategic priorities across the organisation, combining market intelligence and rigorous analysis to inform senior decision-making. The role sits in a hybrid model with Manchester or London, and forms part of a 14-month FTC.

You will work with senior stakeholders to deliver clear insights and recommendations that drive the future of the business. The ideal candidate will bring strong strategic and analytical capabilities, excellent communication

Qualifications

  • Experience applying strategic and business analysis frameworks in a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of the UK energy sector and energy transition.
  • Clear, compelling reports and briefings for senior audiences.
  • Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to organise multiple activities while delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of strategic materials communicating medium-term priorities and support stakeholder engagement.
  • Enhance market intelligence through analysis informing recommendations and decisions.
  • Produce high-quality strategic insights and regular reporting to support priorities.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand priorities and communicate strategy effectively.
  • Support Strategy leaders with initiatives, briefing materials, and development of functional strategies.

How you will contribute to transforming the smart energy network and shaping the future
  • Lead the delivery of strategic materials that clearly communicate the medium‑term priorities of the business and support effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to DCC’s market intelligence capability, providing internal and external analysis that informs strategic recommendations and decision‑making.
  • Produce high‑quality strategic insight, including regular reporting and deep‑dive analysis, to support the delivery of DCC’s strategic priorities.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business priorities, gather insight and support the effective communication of strategy.
  • Support senior Strategy leaders and functional teams with strategic initiatives, analysis, briefing materials and the development and refresh of functional strategies.
What you need to bring
  • Proven experience applying a broad range of strategic and business analysis frameworks, ideally gained within a regulated organisation, government or utilities environment.
  • Strong understanding of the UK energy sector and a genuine interest in the energy transition.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing clear, compelling reports and briefings for senior audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships across functions and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.
