Job summary

Unum UK is seeking a Strategy Manager in the UK, based in Dorking or Basingstoke, with a hybrid pattern (2 days WFH). The role shapes and delivers key elements of Unum UK’s strategy, working with the Strategy & Transformation Director to drive high-impact analysis and executive-ready outputs.

You will monitor market trends, identify opportunities and risks, and translate insights into tangible business cases to inform strategic initiatives in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a strategy, consulting, transformation or commercial role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience in financial services, insurance, or regulated B2B environments.

The role

What will you be doing?

Purpose: The Strategy Manager is a senior individual contributor responsible for shaping and delivering key elements of Unum UK’s strategy. Working in close partnership with the Strategy & Transformation Director, the role leads high-impact strategic analysis, priority initiatives and executive-ready outputs, including monitoring the external market and generating competitor insight. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy across defined strategic areas, without direct line management responsibility, and plays a key role in enabling the effectiveness and pace of the wider strategy agenda.

This role also manages and support various strategic projects working closely with SMEs and leaders.

• Experience working within financial services, insurance, employee benefits, or another regulated B2B environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to turn insight into tangible business outcomes
