Strategy Manager

This is a hybrid working opportunity, two days a week will be required in our Manchester office.

Role Overview

The Strategy Manager will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the Retail business and supporting the development of a high-performing strategy function.

Working across growth, performance and transformation priorities, the role will provide strategic insight, rigorous analysis and practical recommendations that enable better decision-making at senior leadership level. As an early member of the team, the Strategy Manager will help establish the Strategy function as a trusted partner, delivering measurable business impact while exploring the application of AI and emerging technologies to drive innovation and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and deliver strategic projects focused on the Retail business's most important growth, performance and transformation opportunities.
Support the development and execution of the Retail strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
Conduct market, competitor, customer and business performance analysis to identify opportunities, risks and areas for improvement.
Develop insight-led, commercially focused recommendations to support executive and senior leadership decision-making.
Produce high-quality presentations, reports and business cases for a range of senior stakeholders.
Build effective relationships with leaders and stakeholders across the organisation to influence outcomes and drive strategic initiatives.
Contribute to the development of the Strategy team's frameworks, methodologies, capabilities and reputation across the business.
Investigate and leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance strategic insight generation, business performance and decision-making.

Skills and Experience Required

Experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, business transformation or a similar strategic role.
Demonstrated experience leading strategic projects and delivering measurable business outcomes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex business issues and identify practical solutions.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, including experience influencing senior leaders.
Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of the drivers of business performance, growth and profitability.
Experience conducting market analysis, competitor assessments and business performance reviews to inform strategic decisions.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
Strong curiosity, innovation mindset and interest in applying AI and emerging technologies to business challenges.
Experience working collaboratively across functions to build relationships and deliver strategic outcomes.
Financial Services or UK General Insurance experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
