Job summary

The West Midlands Combined Authority is seeking a Workforce Planning Lead to develop and embed strategic workforce planning across WMCA. You will use workforce intelligence, analytics and scenario planning to help senior leaders anticipate future capacity, capability and affordability needs.

Based at 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham, with two days a week in the office, you will translate organisational strategy into a three-to-five-year workforce plan and provide governance, insight and investment

Qualifications

Significant experience in strategic workforce planning, OD or organisational planning within a complex organisation.
Advanced capability in workforce modelling, forecasting and scenario planning.
Experience leading strategic workforce analytics and workforce insight initiatives.
Strong understanding of workforce planning strategy and approaches.

Responsibilities

Lead development and embedding of strategic workforce planning across WMCA, acting as senior specialist.
Develop organisation-wide workforce planning frameworks including forecasting, scenario planning, and establishment planning.
Translate strategy and demand into a 3–5 year workforce plan with evidence-based recommendations.
Lead workforce analytics and reporting using dashboards and benchmarking.
Provide strategic advice to senior leaders and governance forums with evidence-based insight.
Collaborate with People & Culture, Talent Acquisition, Finance and other teams.
