Job summary

West Midlands Combined Authority is seeking a proactive Member Engagement Executive to support briefing and engagement with elected members and senior leaders across the region. The role involves coordinating communications, data analysis, and strengthening relationships with councils for informed regional decision-making.

You will work across teams in a fast-paced political environment, ensuring consistent messaging and impactful engagement while spending two days a week in the Birmingham

Qualifications

• Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders in a public sector or political environment.
• Ability to extract actionable insights from stakeholder data and feedback.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with professional presentation of information.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage changing priorities and deliver to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of a joined-up briefing and engagement approach with Constituent Authority Leaders and Chief Executives.
• Coordinate political engagement linked to WMCA Board decisions and regional priorities.
• Support relationship management through programmes and partnerships with neighbouring authorities.
• Build and maintain relationships with councillors, acting as WMCA ambassador and promoting collaboration.
• Collate information across WMCA teams and coordinate responses to councillors and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate member communications, briefings, visits and engagement activity.
• Lead coordination and delivery of member-facing communications, including the monthly Members’ Round-Up.
• Organise all-councillor webinars and briefings; support induction, development and training activity.
