Job summary

Anglian Water Group is seeking two Demand Reporting Data Scientists to join the Strategic Asset Management team. You will build models for regulatory reporting, consumption insights and long-term water efficiency.

Expect high-frequency data, practical ML, and data pipelines delivering actionable insights for demand management and leakage analysis. You will collaborate across data engineers and reporting teams, applying statistical methods, validation measures and clear visualisations to support

Qualifications

• A Level 5+ qualification in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• Portfolio of data science solutions with outcomes.
• Strong Python and SQL with complex datasets.
• Statistical analysis, predictive modelling, ML experience.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop models feeding into regulatory reporting and consumption components.
• Enrich stakeholder insight of Big Data Smart Meter set; apply QA and automation for reporting.
• Develop statistical and predictive models to improve understanding of consumption, per capita consumption, demand and leakage.
• Carry out exploratory analysis, data mining and empirical analysis to identify trends, drivers and opportunities.
• Apply data science techniques such as regression, decision trees, Monte Carlo, neural networks to business problems.
• Define and apply performance/accuracy measures; communicate limitations clearly.
• Translate findings into visualisations and practical recommendations for stakeholders.
• Prepare large, high-frequency datasets for analytical products; build reusable checks and workflows.
• Create data pipelines; collaborate with Data Engineers for testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to deliver measurable business value.
• Explore emerging data science approaches while maintaining data ethics and governance.
