Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director or experienced Principal Consultant to join our Development Planning and Management Team in the South East, based in London, St Albans or Birmingham. The role focuses on advising on transport planning for development proposals affecting the SRN and leading a high-performing team of transport planners.

Responsibilities include client liaison, delivering complex reports, and mentoring staff while ensuring quality and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Spatial/Urban Planning or related field.
• Membership (ideally Chartered) of CIHT, TPS or CILT is preferred.
• Extensive post-graduate experience in transport planning and strong leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of transport planners and consultants.
• Oversee complex transport planning documents and SRN-related reporting.
• Manage client relationships, milestones, and KPIs for the contract.
