Job summary

DHL is seeking a Transport Planner in Rugby to develop and manage efficient transport plans using TMS, optimise vehicle and driver utilization, and sustain service KPIs. The role emphasises problem-solving, stakeholder collaboration and continuous improvement in a fast-paced logistics environment.

The successful candidate will analyse network performance, build strong supplier/customer relationships, and adapt to evolving operational needs while maintaining high service levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning and operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Good IT skills including Excel and TMS.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transport operations using TMS, including load building, route creation, and allocation of vehicles, trailers and drivers.
• Deliver transport plans within deadlines while achieving utilisation, load fill and service KPIs.
• Monitor network performance, analyse data, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and profitability.
• Manage subcontractor and agency relationships, including securing additional resource to meet demand.
• Build relationships with transport sites, suppliers, customers and operations teams to ensure service excellence.
