Job summary

Culina is seeking a Transport Strategy Lead to shape the future of transport across its Contract Logistics network. You will turn complex data into practical strategies that improve network efficiency, service, and commercial results.

Reporting to the Business Director, you will guide transport strategy, network design and fleet optimisation, influence senior leaders, and drive multi-million-pound impact without direct budget ownership.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in transport, logistics or supply chain.
• Track record delivering transport strategy, network optimisation and large-scale transformation.
• Advanced transport modelling and data analytics capability.
• Strong commercial awareness with fleet economics understanding.
• Ability to influence executive-level decisions without direct authority.
• Experience implementing standardised planning across dispersed sites.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Credibility with senior stakeholders and strategic customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the transport strategy and annual Transport Optimisation Plan to deliver PBT/EBIT improvements.
• Lead network design and fleet strategy, including sizing, capacity modelling and asset deployment.
• Improve fleet utilisation, reduce empty miles and subcontracting while maintaining service.
• Develop advanced modelling and scenario planning to support investments and strategic change.
• Produce cost-to-serve analyses and business cases using data and tools.
• Embed standardised planning frameworks and reduce duplication across business units.
• Support tenders and contract renewals with design, modelling and insights.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver scalable transport solutions.
