Job summary

WSP is seeking a Development Transport Planning Director to lead client-facing growth in Leeds and across the UK. You'll bring a strong track record in winning and delivering multi-disciplinary transport projects, and provide strategic leadership across planning, design and delivery teams.

The role focuses on identifying opportunities, building trusted client relationships, and guiding bids from concept to completion while upholding WSP’s values and SHEQ commitments.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in transport planning or civil engineering.
• Chartered status.
• Commercial and strategic capability with a demonstrable track record in identifying and delivering new business opportunities.
• Excellent inter-personal skills with established leadership and management capabilities.
• Proven track record of work winning.
• A broad range of relevant project experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging a network of clients and colleagues to win work and grow market share for the Development team.
• Collaborate with the Regional Director and local office lead to set growth targets and plans.
• Engage with public/private sector clients and stakeholders to build trusted relationships.
• Provide technical advice to clients and support them through planning and design processes.
• Lead and support bids, including reviewing submissions and adding value both commercially and technically.
