Job summary

Wessex Procurement Limited is seeking a permanent, full-time Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing, manage a category workplan and drive cost improvement savings for NHS Trusts.

You will line-manage a small team, oversee tenders and complex procurements, and ensure contract management with SLAs and KPIs. A Level 6 MCIPS qualification with CIPS membership and ongoing CPD is required.

Qualifications

• Level 6 MCIPS qualification or suitable equivalent.
• Membership of CIPS or another appropriate professional institute.
• Evidence of continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic sourcing programme for allocated categories and deliver procurement projects.
• Deliver the category workplan, a portfolio of strategic contracts and projects.
• Develop in-house and collaborative procurement strategies from spend analysis to meet cost and efficiency savings and CIP targets.
• Lead on tenders and complex strategic procurement projects.
• Provide expert advice on contract management, SLAs and KPIs with stakeholders.
• Research market risks and trends, manage supplier relationships and leverage suppliers.
• Liaise with end users to standardise products and rationalise catalogues.
• Advise on procurement decisions within governance and control risks of trials and R&D activity.
• Line manage a small team, mentoring, coaching, appraisals and training development.
• Report on benefits, milestones, KPIs, workload and resource; maintain management information.
• Deputise for Senior Procurement Manager and cover other Procurement Managers during absence.
• Consider procurement impact on supply chain, materials management and stock, using WPL systems.
