Job summary

Wessex NHS Procurement Limited in Southampton is inviting applications for a Procurement Manager (Band 7) on a permanent, full-time basis. The role focuses on delivering strategic category workplans, leading procurement projects, and driving value through cost improvement programmes in collaboration with NHS stakeholders.

You will manage a small team, oversee supplier relationships, and contribute to standardising procurement processes across the local health economy while supporting governance

Qualifications

• Experience in NHS or public sector procurement.
• Proven track record delivering cost improvements and value for money.
• Knowledge of public procurement regulations and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the procurement category workplan and strategic sourcing projects.
• Drive annual cost improvement programmes and value for money.
• Manage a small team and mentor procurement staff.
• Liaise with internal/external stakeholders to ensure contract compliance.
• Provide governance reporting and KPI monitoring for procurement activities.
