Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Procurement Manager to join our UK Direct Procurement team in Leeds. You will lead sourcing strategies for major spend areas, partnering with Project, Bid, Commercial, Pricing and Finance teams to deliver value and support financial targets.

You will build relationships across functions to ensure procurement is embedded early in significant activities, and you will champion sustainable supply-chain practices while driving savings and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• MCIPS or equivalent degree sought or strongly desirable.
• Direct procurement experience in engineering or professional services is desirable.
• Track record of delivering value through category management.
• Experience supporting bids requiring subconsultant/supply-chain solutions.
• Collaborative leadership with accountability and curiosity.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to make evidence-based decisions with sound judgement.
• Proven ability to drive commercial, operational and sustainable value.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Direct Procurement team across the business and with external partners.
• Develop and manage a robust pipeline of procurement activity delivering priorities.
• Lead the design, development and delivery of category strategies for key spend areas.
• Develop and execute strategic category management plans aligned with objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor market trends and regulatory developments to inform sourcing strategies.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships to engage procurement early and strategically.
• Promote safe, sustainable and responsible supply-chain practices.
• Provide timely forecasts of expected savings against budget.
• Apply supplier relationship management to improve performance and drive innovation.
• Report annualised savings with auditable benefits tracking.
• Lead contract and performance management of strategic suppliers.
• Define service requirements and establish meaningful KPIs.
