Job summary

Burpham Primary School is seeking an experienced SEND practitioner with high expectations and the passion to make a positive difference to our pupils. This is a five-day-a-week post, with flexible discussion on attendance, and the option to work from home at times for focused strategic work.

The successful candidate will join the Senior Leadership and DSL teams, hold the National SENCo award or NPQ for SENCos (or be willing to work towards it), and lead provision for a wide range of needs to

Qualifications

• Hold the National SENCo award or NPQ for SENCos, or be willing to work towards it.
• Be an integral part of the Senior Leadership and DSL team.
• Have experience embedding change at whole-school level and supporting colleagues to develop their practice.
• Have an excellent understanding of how to secure progress and improve outcomes for all pupils.
• Experience planning and delivering provision for a wide range of specific needs.
• Be able to model good practice across the primary phase.
• Have the knowledge and skills to liaise effectively with a range of agencies.
• Be able to foster positive working relationships with children, parents and carers.
• Lead the wider pastoral team of HSLW and ELSA.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEN and pastoral initiatives within the school and DSL team.
• Collaborate with SLT to embed school-wide improvements.
• Support staff development and share best practices.
• Plan and oversee provision for diverse needs.
• Liaise with external agencies to secure necessary support.
• Foster positive relationships with children and families.
• Coordinate the wider pastoral team (HSLW/ELSA).
