Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking an experienced SEND Casework Manager to lead a team of EHC Casework Officers and ensure the Local Authority meets statutory duties for children and young people with SEND.

You will oversee statutory SEND assessments, annual reviews and EHCP processes, working with schools, health colleagues, social care professionals, families and partners to secure appropriate educational provision and positive outcomes. DBS disclosure required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading SEND assessment and EHCP processes.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory duties.
• Proven leadership and team development skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership and oversight of the SEND casework team.
• Ensure compliance with statutory timescales and quality standards.
• Coordinate responses to appeals and tribunal documentation.
• Collaborate with schools, health, social care and families to secure appropriate provision.
• Promote effective stakeholder communication and maintain accurate records.
