Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking an experienced Strategic Manager SEND Casework to lead a team and drive system-wide improvements for children and young people with SEND. The role focuses on shifting from compliance to partnership-led practice to improve early intervention and outcomes.

You will influence schools, trusts and partners while overseeing complex casework and strategic planning to deliver value for money and sustainable change. Hybrid working is available where applicable.

Qualifications

Extensive and proven senior management experience in a school or Children’s Services within a local authority to promote educational achievement.
Experience of working closely with schools to promote inclusion and attainment.
Experience of managing complex change and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

Lead SEND casework through a team of managers, providing professional leadership and quality assurance.
Drive a shift from compliance to partnership-led practice to improve inclusion and outcomes.
Influence practice across schools, trusts and partner agencies and oversee complex casework.
Ensure resources are used effectively to deliver value for money and sustainable outcomes.
