Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is partnering with a thriving primary school in Enfield, England, to recruit an experienced School Business Manager. You will lead financial, administrative and operational functions, ensuring the school remains financially secure and well-organised for pupils and staff.

You will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, managing budgets, HR, procurement, premises, compliance and reporting while supporting governance and audits.

Qualifications

• Experience as a School Business Manager or senior school finance/operations role.
• Strong knowledge of school finance and excellent organisational skills.
• Experience with key management systems (FMS, PS Financials, Arbor, SIMS) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the school's annual budget and financial planning.
• Monitor expenditure, income and purchasing.
• Oversee HR and payroll processes.
• Manage contracts and supplier relationships.
• Lead administration and support staff.
• Oversee premises, facilities and health & safety.
• Manage compliance, risk and insurance.
• Support governors with financial reporting.
• Coordinate audits and statutory returns.
• Ensure school policies and procedures are up to date.
