Job summary

Unknown School in Oxfordshire is seeking an experienced Site Manager to take total operational responsibility for the buildings and grounds, reporting to the School Business Manager. This role requires leadership of the estates team and a focus on creating a safe, clean, and inspiring environment for students and staff.

You will lead a dedicated on-site team, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory testing, and manage contractors and budgets to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing school sites or large facilities.
• Hands-on building maintenance and utilities knowledge.
• Strong leadership and staff scheduling abilities.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS check on Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all routine and reactive maintenance for the school estate.
• Lead caretaking, cleaning, and maintenance teams on-site.
• Ensure health & safety, fire safety, and COSHH compliance.
• Oversee security, CCTV, access control, and out-of-hours calls.
• Manage contractors, oversee capital works, monitor site budget.
