Job summary

aaa Consulting is seeking a commercially focused Sales & Proposals Engineer to join the growing consultancy and support the sale of services across the UK and Ireland. The role combines business development, client management and proposal preparation, working with technical teams to drive revenue growth.

You will identify opportunities, build a robust sales pipeline, prepare competitive proposals, and maintain CRM records to track progress and forecast performance.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in engineering, business, or a related discipline.
• Understanding of flow measurement, metering, digital solutions or training services.
• Experience in technical sales, proposals, business development or commercial roles.
• Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
• Experience preparing proposals, tenders or commercial submissions.
• Ability to identify opportunities and convert leads into business.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Experience within engineering, energy, oil & gas, renewables or technical consultancy environments.
• Experience attending industry events and developing new markets.

Responsibilities

• Promote and sell the company's consultancy services, digital products and training solutions across the UK & Ireland.
• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities.
• Build and grow relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities for further business.
• Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to achieve growth targets.
• Support the diversification and development of new products and services.
• Prepare high-quality proposals and commercial submissions for both UK and international opportunities.
• Manage proposal activities through to completion, including client follow-up and negotiation support.
• Maintain proposal trackers and ensure opportunities progress effectively through the sales cycle.
• Provide regular sales activity and pipeline updates to management.
• Attend client meetings, industry events, exhibitions, seminars and trade shows.
• Develop strong relationships with clients, partners and industry stakeholders.
• Gather and share market intelligence, customer feedback and competitor insights.
• Support marketing initiatives and the development of promotional materials.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records.
• Track sales performance, pipeline activity and forecasting information.
• Produce sales reports and commercial updates as required.
